The NBA’s involvement in eSports will come in the form of a partnership with Take-Two Interactive. The basketball association and the publisher have officially announced a brand new eSports league, which is going to be dubbed the NBA 2K eLeague. Revealed by Take-Two, this new eSports venture is the “first official eSports league operated by a U.S. professional sports league,” and looks to even further tie together traditional sports with their eSports counterparts....

For starters, there are four teams with only one loss on their ledger: Warriors (8-to-1), Rockets (16-to-1), Raptors (25-to-1), and Grizzlies (25-to-1). Each of those four teams saw their odds shrink from last week, but the Rockets and Warriors saw significant movement from their respective 30-to-1 and 20-to-1 prices. The fact that the Warriors are good isn’t a surprise, but the fact that they’re establishing themselves as a legitimate title contender may have caught some people off guard....

Both ideas have been discussed informally, but there has been zero movement to make them real things, league senior vice president Tim Frank said Tuesday.
