There are a few teams where the player can step in and seize the starting spot quickly, so two guards will be able to take their pick of the NBA 2K23 squads they think gives them the best chance to succeed.

Milwaukee Bucks

If there were only one team on this list, it’d be the Milwaukee Bucks. The rest of the entries are there to suit personal taste. No situation is better than this one. That’s not even an opinion, taking over for Wesley Matthews, the lowest-rated starter at any position in the entire game, is a snap.

The rest of the starters are all 80+ so everybody else is solid. And yes, getting a few of the best playmaking badges and passing every so often to Giannis Antetokounmpo and his sky-high 97 rating is as satisfying as it sounds. Expect another championship title the instant players get moved to the starting role.

Toronto Raptors

Every year, many gamers say that their favorite kind of team to join isn’t the one most loaded with talent. They want a cast that won’t blow it for them, sure, but they prefer to be the star of the show. If that’s the case, consider joining the Raptors.

The only sub-80 player on the team is Gary Trent Jr. who can be replaced somewhat quickly. After that, players get to show off their top-notch defensive badges, rack up points, and assist the cast of players all while being recognized as the undisputed star in Toronto.

New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are for players who enjoy being a star but feel the need for an extra challenge. Evan Fournier needs replacement in a bad way and the player can step in for him very early into the first season. After that, nobody is else terrible, but nobody else is going to help out much either.

Players who like to stack up ideal finishing badges and put the team on their backs will love it in New York. The cast won’t lose any games on their own but they’ll be hard-pressed to win any games on their own either. They need somebody to take the lead role.

Portland Trailblazers

This is a video game, right? It’s an opportunity to live out a fantasy. How awesome does it sound to unlock the greatest shooting badges and then start draining threes from beyond the arc with Damian Lillard? It’s every bit as awesome as it sounds.

Getting the starting role away from Anfernee Simons is a bit tougher here than in other situations. But for long-range specialists, it’s worth an extra few games on the bench. Defenses won’t be able to cover two threats on the perimeter, so pass back and forth with the other guard until one of the two is open.

Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets are a fantastic place for shooting guards who like to shoot. Taking over the starting job from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is easy with his 76 rating. Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. aren’t selling points by any means, but they’re largely inconsequential to the strategy of joining Denver.

Murray and Jokic are exceptional passers. All those boosts will help make shots even more accurate. Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic (96) will be grabbing rebounds and looking for somebody to give the ball to while Murray will also be hoping for open targets. Denver is perhaps the best place to lead the league in scoring as a two guard.
