Reynolds finishes his illustrious college career with 88 career touchdowns from scrimmage. Monday’s record-breaker was a 9-yard run that gave the Midshipmen (11-2) a 44-28 lead over Pitt late in the fourth quarter of the Military Bowl.

“He’s a tremendous kid and has done great things for our program,” Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo told ESPN following the game.

Reynolds finishes his career with 4,559 rushing yards to pass former West Virginia quarterback Pat White and Michigan’s Denard Robinson for the most rushing yards by a quarterback.

Dixon, who had taken over the career lead from Reynolds with four TDs in LaTech’s New Orleans Bowl win over Arkansas State on Dec. 19, said at the time that he “probably” wouldn’t watch the Military Bowl.

“If he gets the record, it’s good,” Dixon said last weekend, via the Monroe News Star. “Just to have two people chasing that record at the same thing is remarkable. Everybody will talk about it forever.”
